Shahid Kapoor & Rashmika Mandanna to romance each other for the FIRST time in Dinesh Vijan’s Cocktail 2

Actor Shahid Kapoor has bagged another project and this time it’s a sequel to romantic comedy Cocktail 2. The film will be under Dinesh Vijan, who is expanding his 2012 romantic comedy Cocktail into a franchise with an entirely new cast.

As per the report on Peepingmoon.com, Shahid has signed on to headline this sequel, taking over from Saif Ali Khan, who played the lead in the first film alongside Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. Now, we hear the makers have finalized the heroines as well and it is the Pushpa 2 star Rashmika Mandanna.

The actress has been locked in to play one of the two leading ladies in this love triangle. The negotiations for the film are in the final stage.

This romantic comedy will mark Shahid and Rashmika’s first work together on-screen. Earlier there were reports that the two will be starring in a double-role comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee but the project didn’t materialize due to budgetary issues.

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor recently shared that he is prepping for his next edgy nasty gangster 90s drama Arjun Ustara with Triptii Dimri directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. He will also be in another project with Vishal titled Deva, which will be released in theatres on February 14, 2025.

On the other hand, Rashmika is riding high on the success of the recently released film Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2. She will also be starring in Sikandar with Salman Khan. Also in South Indian films such as Kubera, The Girlfriend and Thama.
